PROFESSOR OR ASSISTANT/ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR (TENURE TRACK) IN HEALTH ECONOMICS
For the post of Professor, a researcher of high international standard is sought. For the tenure track assistant / associate professorship, we seek a highly talented researcher whose merits show significant potential in research. The title and more detailed content of the position will be defined later according to the merits and the scientific career of the selected candidate.
The Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor will conduct research on issues in health economics, such as the health care sector and health related behaviour, using economic models and methods. The post will involve teaching at the Turku School of Economics and the Faculty of Medicine. The Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor will participate in the activities of SHS Education and Research Centre. The assessment of the applicants’ previous research will focus on publications related to health economics.
The Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor conducts and supervises scientific research, gives science-based education, follows developments in science, and participates in societal interaction and international cooperation in his or her field.
The position is subject to a six-month trial period.
The post will be filled directly as a Professor for an indefinite period or through a tenure track system first as fixed-term employment periods as Assistant / Associate Professor. The aim of advancing on the tenure track is the qualification into tenure of a professorship, which requires success in evaluations. The tenure track system of the University of Turku is clarified in more detail at the end of the appointment specification.
The salary for this particular post is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel (YPJ). The salary shall be determined when drawing up the employment contract.
