Assistant Professor (tenure track) of Molecular Plant Biology – Regulation of Photosynthesis – Higher Plant Light Reactions

Applications are hereby invited for the position of Assistant Professor (tenure track) in Molecular Plant Biology at the Faculty of Science and Engineering. We seek a talented photosynthesis researcher at early stage of his/her academic career ladder (no longer than 10 years since defending his/her PhD thesis). Applicant is expected to possess strong knowledge on plant photosynthesis research proven by recent publications as well as capability and enthusiasm to apply research on photosynthetic light reactions for enhancement of food, feed and fuel production. A person selected for the post will be working in the Laboratory of Molecular Plant Biology with strong research focus on photosynthesis and good technical facilities for research in photosynthetic light reactions.

The post is located at the Department of Biochemistry.

The post includes research work, teaching – including supervising Master and PhD students – and other activities in the academic community. The assistant professor is expected to co-operate with other research groups, to form and lead his or her own research group and to obtain external research funding at both domestic and international level.

The salary for this particular post is determined in accordance with the university salary system for teaching and research personnel (YPJ). The salary shall be determined when drawing up the employment contract.

The position is subject to a six-month trial period.
